Chapter 8 · Optional
Turn on Vault
Vault turns one PC at your center into a shared game-library server, so a game only needs installing once. It's included on select plans and entirely optional. Everything in the earlier chapters works without it.
-
1. Switch plans, if needed
If you're not already on a Vault-inclusive plan, switch to one on your Owner panel's Subscriptions page first.
-
2. Enable
On Vault Settings, click Enable Vault. That's it for this page. No code to write down.
-
3. Install & assign
A Download Vault Installer button now appears on this same page, the same one every PC uses (Chapter 6). Run it on the PC that'll host the shared library, pick Agent + Vault, pair its Agent to a Device, then head to the Center panel's Vault page and assign that Device as your Server. No Cloud Base URL, no pairing code to type on the PC itself; it picks up the assignment and pairs on its own within a few seconds.
-
4. Provision
Back on Vault Settings, pick a drive letter, size, and volume label, then provision. This runs in the background, so give it a moment.
Once provisioning finishes, Vault Settings shows a green Enabled badge, and you're running. Day-to-day monitoring (which PCs have mounted the shared disk, its size, and update status) lives on the Center panel's own Vault page from here on.
Note
This chapter covers getting the Server running. Installing on the rest of your PCs, designating an Update PC, and actually publishing what it installs are their own topic. See the Vault Setup Guide for the full walkthrough.
