Get a gaming PC locked down right.

Installing the client is the easy part. This covers pairing it to a Device, setting a technician PIN before it locks you out of your own settings, and what every kiosk toggle actually does.

Chapter 1

Before you install

A quick heads-up before you touch the PC:

  • Windows 10 or 11 only. The kiosk and lockdown features are Windows-specific and won't run anywhere else.
  • The installer itself needs an administrator prompt to run. It installs for every user on the machine, not just the current one.
  • Windows may show an "unrecognized publisher" SmartScreen warning the first time you run it. That's expected; click through it (More info → Run anyway).

Note

That admin prompt is only for installing. Once it's running, day-to-day security settings (kiosk mode, blocking Task Manager, and the rest) never need admin rights again, since they're all per-user settings under the hood.
